Practical choices. Everyday habits. It makes sense.

Social Responsibility and Sustainability

At KC Ventures, sustainability is not a side project. It is part of how we decide what to build, who we work with, and how we ship every order. We are a small team, but every venture under our umbrella aims to create useful things with a lighter footprint and a longer life.

KC Ventures Group is a small Bay Area team of builders, makers, and consultants who care about how everyday products are made and used.

Why Sustainability Matters To Us

KC Ventures grew out of family businesses, late-night projects, and classes we took together at San José State University. We both grew up in the Bay Area and work across trades, families, and companies here. That means the choices we make about materials, vendors, and people affect the same communities we call home.

We work across construction, 3D printing, consulting, content, and coaching. On paper those look very different, but they all share the same question: can we deliver quality work without treating resources as disposable? This page shares where we are today and the commitments we are making going forward.

Make Better, Not More.

Our Sustainability Pillars

01

Make Better, Not More

We focus on small batch production, on demand printing, and services that solve real problems. If something does not add value for our customers or community, we do not make it.

02

Design For Second Life

Misprints, scrap parts, and leftover materials are sorted, cleaned, and either reworked into new products or responsibly recycled. When a part is not perfect, it is not trash. It is a new starting point.

03

Waste Less In Every Project

From how we estimate construction jobs to how we pack and ship a single lure, we look for ways to reduce offcuts, prevent rework, and send less to landfill. We would rather spend more time planning than more money hauling away waste.

04

Be Transparent And Keep Learning

We are not a certified sustainability lab, and we do not have everything figured out. We share what we are trying, what is working, and what still needs improvement so customers and partners can make informed choices.

HOW OUR VENTURES PUT THIS INTO PRACTICE

Explore the range of services we offer to elevate your business.

Product and 3D Printing Ventures

SeeCubed Labs, Wake n Bait, Latte and Friends

Print parts in small runs so we do not stockpile inventory that might never be used.
Turn misprints and support material into test pieces, prototypes, or recycled filament where possible.
Choose practical packaging, with a preference for paper, cardboard, and reusable boxes.

Construction and Field Services

Danny Tran Construction, JT Excavation

Plan jobs carefully to avoid unnecessary demo, extra trips, and surprise change orders.
Sort concrete, metal, and clean lumber so they can be recycled or reused according to local rules.
Protect neighbors and crews by following safety guidelines and leaving job sites tidy at the end of the day.

Coaching, Media, and Consulting

Coach Kevin, KCV Studios, Crew With Views, Smart Monkey Consulting

Use digital tools, remote sessions, and shared files to cut down on unnecessary travel and printing.
Work with clients on realistic, values aligned goals rather than pushing more content or programs than they actually need.
Support ethical storytelling, fair credit, and respectful treatment of everyone who appears in our work.

Materials, Packaging, and Shipping

We treat materials as a resource, not a disposable expense. For 3D printed parts and small products we:

Batch jobs so printers and machines run efficiently.
Design parts with strength in mind so they last longer in real conditions.
Reuse incoming boxes and packing material whenever it is clean and safe to do so.

When we need new packaging, we prefer recyclable paper, cardboard, and mailers without unnecessary coatings. We avoid single use plastic fillers whenever we can, and we are testing more reusable and refill style packaging for future product lines.

People, Safety, and Community

Sustainability is also about how people are treated. KC Ventures is a small team, but we want every project and job site to reflect our values.

01

Follow safety requirements on construction and excavation projects so crews, neighbors, and inspectors can go home safe.

02

Pay fairly for specialized skills and respect the time of everyone who helps bring a venture to life.

03

Aim for inclusive spaces in our content, coaching, and events so more people can see themselves in the work we do.

As we grow, we plan to dedicate more hours and budget to community partnerships, mentorship, and youth programs that connect creativity, trades, and technology.

What We Are Still Working On

We are proud of the progress so far and we also know there is more to do. Our next focus areas include:

Track Real Waste Diversion

We are building better ways to measure how much material we reuse, recycle, or send to landfill so future goals are based on real numbers instead of guesses.

Test Better Materials

We are exploring more recycled, bio-based, and locally sourced materials that still meet performance and safety requirements for construction and product use.

Share More Supplier Details

We want to be clearer about where key materials and services come from and how our partners approach sustainability in their own work.

Set Clear Yearly Goals

We are creating a simple set of yearly sustainability goals that we can track, learn from, and share with customers and our community.

How You Can Partner With Us

Good sustainability work is collaborative. If you have ideas, resources, or feedback, we want to hear them. Every project, from a single print job to a full build, is a chance to make our shared choices smarter.
